Corey Belton, 25, of Poughkeepsie was charged with robbery Tuesday after police were called to Adams Fairacre Farms at 765 Dutchess Turnpike of a shoplifter fleeing the store, said Capt. Kevin Faber.

While officers were heading to the store, they were also informed that Belton had threatened an employee that was following him, saying he had a gun in his bag, Faber said.

Officers were able to locate Belton and take him into custody without incident. No weapon was recovered, Faber said.

Belton is being held at the Dutchess County Jail on $10,000 bail and $20,000 bond.
